Our Mission:

The Connecticut Bluegrass Music Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education, preservation, and evolution of Bluegrass music.  Our goal is to promote Bluegrass music through the underwriting of live performances and various educational projects; such as bringing our "Bluegrass In The Schools & Libraries" presentation to local libraries and music curriculums at schools throughout the state. CTBMA is willing to exchange ideas with any Bluegrass music or acoustic music associations, artists, agencies, radio stations and record companies.

CTBMA sponsors seasonal summer concerts in The Salem Valley Barn. A private woodland setting in Salem, CT owned by our generous hosts, The Bingham Family. We offer a unique and intimate performance opportunity to the traveling artist, with 100% of the gate going to the artist.

CTBMA is dedicated to providing our music audience with professional, top quality shows: great music, professional sound, an amzing setting, and a helpful staff of volunteers to make the Salem Valley Barn experience the best it can be for everyone involved. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for future activities, collaborations...anything that falls within the scope of our official musical mission.

CTBMA was founded in 2000 and is registered  with the State of Connecticut as a non-membership, non-profit corporation.  Its sole members are its president, Kim Cyr, and a Board of Directors.  All CTBMA activities are staffed exclusively by volunteers. Any and all funding comes from paid concert admission, donations, sales of refreshments and limited sponsorship arrangements.

CTBMA is non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of
Bluegrass history and to help ensure the future of Bluegrass Music.
